Hi,

I have a 2019 GMC TERRAIN SLE. When I scan, I get this error "P0017 crankshaft position - crankshaft position correlation bank 1 sensor B"

Also the front wheels shakes (slightly) between 60 and 70 MPH

Another worning "Engine power reduced"

How to fix? Thank you Sir. Im a huge fan of your channel.

Hopefully Mr Scotty K will read my comment. He'll know exactly what's the problem.

He might or might not. Scotty can't answer all questions here and selects a small number to answer himself based on his own criteria. The rest are answered by the community. (Since P0017, like most codes, has multiple potential causes it is not clear that even Scotty would know exactly what the problem is without being able to physically examine the vehicle.)

That code is triggered when the ECU detects the camshaft being out of phase with the crankshaft. That is frequently due to a stretched timing chain but could also be an electrical problem, sensor problem, or cam phaser problem.

Unfortunately it appears that the repair manual at lemon-manuals.la does not have the DTC information for your vehicle (or the Chevy Equinox which is essentially the same). Generic troubleshooting instructions for P0017 can be found in the links below should you want to pursue some DIY diagnostics:

You can find diagnostic information for codes at the link below:

(You did not provide sufficient detail to link directly to your specific model and engine.)

I provided the error codes and the symptoms, I hoping someone here had the same or similar problems so I can guide myself on that
