we purchased a 2019 honda odyssey in 2018. in 2019 (1 year old) it started making a knocking sound when we locked the steering wheel. we didn’t mind it at first. until it started happening more frequently this last year. we took it to a local repair shop and they replaced the tie rods. sound was still happening. do you recommend us going to our local honda dealer to see if they can detect it or ask the local repair shop to replace the tie rods again.
I wouldn't go back to that shop as obviously tie rods did not fix the issue.
If you don't know of a good independent mechanic, you can always take it to the dealer, pay the diagnostic fee, and get an estimate on repairs. At least then you'll know what you are looking at.
Does the knocking sound appear when you’re at a full lock & accelerating from a stop/crawl?
