I am looking at a truck to use for the next 20 years would you recommend a honda ridgeline black edition that retails for 45k and I can get for about 30k or should I buy a new Tacoma for about 35k.

Which will last longer? and which will be cheaper to repair over the long run?

Ford is already out, they refused my busines

For me, that's a no brainer. Because of so many negative issues with the FWD Ridgeline, which is actually a Honda Pilot refitted with the worst pickup bed I've ever seen, and almost useless towing.

I'd go with a new 21 Tacoma SR5 V6 Auto. Expect MSRP + OTD cost to yield about 36K, depending on options and accessories. But you may find an unsold 2020 at a good discount ??

But Tacoma has issues also, like cheap cab materials, narrow seats, headroom issues, and those rear drum brakes (on a 2021 vehicle ? Give me a break, Toyota).

However, the national average for vehicle life expectancy is 8 years, but with a Tacoma, add 10, 15, or 20 years to that. Mostly, it depends on how well you care for it.

I'm surprised that Ford turned you away ?? They're really hurting for sales, especially with that junky new Ranger ...
