85’ Toyota pickup doesn’t start

When I put gas directly into the carburetor of my 85 Toyota pickup, it starts for a couple seconds, but then shuts off right after. I think it could be a fuel filter. What do you think could be the problem with no fuel coming from the tank to the engine?

Turn the key on your car just before the click where it cranks and listen for a buzzing sound from the area of your tank. If you don't hear anything then I would say its for sure a bad fuel pump.

Yep. I’ve heard of this issue in old vehicles. It’s almost always the fuel pump has gone bad.
