I recently bought a 2019 Hyundai Tucson with 33,000 miles on it. The factory manual states to use 5w-20 engine oil. This seems odd due to the fact that the engine is a GDI. I believe they are requiring 5w-20 due to gas mileage standards set be CERT. Would it be beneficial to use 5w-30 oil instead?

As oil chemistry gets better, new cars are using thinner and thinner oils

Use the correct viscosity from the manufacturer, synthetic as well....
