- Hi Scotty, Looking at buying a 2019 Jaguar XJL Portfolio 3.0 RWD w/ 42,000 miles. Buying as a certified pre-owned with 1 yr warranty from Jaguar/ LR of Fort Myers, FL. This is an “extra” car, I have an 07 Towncar w/ 170k miles and a 2010 F-150 (5.4L) w/ 280k miles (both paid off). I previously owned a 2014 Jag XJL 3.0 AWD but was forced to sell (divorce) so I’m moderately familiar with the cars. Here are my 2 questions: 1). Going to replace plastic coolant pipes to the upgraded aluminum. Appears to be mixed thoughts on replacing the rear crossover pipe. Also appears I can choose an upgraded plastic or aluminum, many guys are going with the plastic. Wouldn’t it make most sense to convert to aluminum vs keeping it plastic, or is the plastic truly upgraded and I can use that? Should I also upgrade the water pump to metal impellers (appears that earlier and maybe 2019) used a pump with plastic impeller's? Can’t seem to find out for sure. Any additional thoughts advice regarding any coolant pipes/ hoses/ system?
2). Car is direct injection. Is there anyway to truly clean and then keep clean, the intake valves (carbon buildup from fuel never touching them) OR is it something I shouldn’t worry about? I do want to keep the car for several 5+ years but will likely only put a few (5k) miles on it per year. - Thank you so much for doing what you do… I love your videos and honesty.

Well I think you're crazy buying a Jaguar. But yeah I change every plastic part I could with metal parts. And as for the direct injection, I would pay a mechanic physically inject cleaner on the intake manifold to clean them once every couple of years if you don't drive much
@scottykilmer that’s why we love you. Yes, I’m a bit crazy but just love those cars. Again, it’s not a daily driver, only a toy (maybe an often broken one 🙏).
