2019 RAM 1500 TRANSMISSION FLUID & FILTER CHANGE

So, my question is this; I currently own a 2019 Ram 1500 5.7 litre with the 8 speed transmission and was wondering if I should replace the transmission fluid and filter as the truck has 57,000 miles on it, and It is used for towing a motorcycle trailer in the summer and light residential snow plowing in the winter.

I purchased the truck new in 2019 and have had zero issues. All of the other fluids have been changed per the maintenance schedule, with the exception of the transmission fluid and filter which according to the dealer is supposed to be lifetime.

My contention is, why do the rear differential the front transfer case and even the brake fluid in the brake master cylinder all require to be changed at a certain interval/mileage but not the transmission fluid? The transmission has many more moving parts than the others’ combined, this makes no sense?

just looking for a little guidance since my dealer who has never failed me through the ownership of a Challenger and (2) other Rams is dead set against this.

which according to the dealer is supposed to be lifetime.

and I'm sure from watching Scotty you know this is a scam.  Don't trust dealers.

See our FAQ for a full article.

if the transmission fails at 100k, then the fluid lasted the lifetime of the transmission, didn't it? They only say this so they can claim lower maintenance costs on the sales sticker.

if you're plowing and towing, I would be changing ATF every 40k.

Thank you for the prompt responses, that’s exactly what I was thinking and will go forward with the fluid & filter change.
