Hi Scotty,
I'm looking at buying a 2019 xts cadillac sedan. It has 41,000 miles and the cost is $21,700.00 Carfax totally clean, no accidents all service records good. Was a rental vehicle then purchased by private party. Automatic. Is this a good car to purchase? I can't seem to find any issues except on line they complained about some radio issues occasionally and brakes need to be changed more than normal usuage. I was thinking about a Honda or Toyota about 3 years old too when this car came up. Canyou give me your opinion?
Some red flags - GM quality is poor compared to Toyota and Honda. The GM 3.6 V6 engine is prone to timing chain problems that cost a fortune to repair. (Though to be fair the later ones are improved over the earlier models.) In general it is not a good idea to buy a rental car. Not all accidents or repairs are reported to Carfax.
Only a good mechanic giving the car a thorough inspection before purchase can reveal its true condition.
