Hey, lately I've been stuck between two cars. The current generation Toyota Avalon (2019-2021)  or the 2008-2012 lexus ISF. They're both around the same price rage and I was wondering which would be a wiser investment. I'm certainly not the target for either car as I'm about to enter college;  but I would like to know which one is more worthy of my hard earn money? Any major issues in any of those two cars? Thank you in advance and have a great day !

Between those two, the Toyota Avalon will be a better choice in terms of total cost of ownership (gas, maintenance, repair costs).  The ISF will have higher mileage, probably beat on (since it’s a performance sedan with a  V8) - not a good choice for a daily driver.  At higher mileage, if a starter or knock sensor needs to be replaced on the ISF, it will cost several thousand dollars for the job since intake manifold has to be removed to access those and also very tight space.  Although since you are entering college, why not look at an older Avalon (from previous generations) and save some money?

If you want to save your hard earned money, pick neither. Instead, look for an older Camry or Accord & enjoy your healthier bank balance..
