2019&Up Tundra Transmission coolers

I’m a long time viewer and a Toyota fan. I’m curious to know your thoughts on why Toyota would eliminates the transmission cooler from its Tundras beginning 2019 and newer. My transmission runs anywhere from 212°-227°F without towing anything and in relatively cool climate this time of year. I’ve always been told anything under 200°F with an automatic transmission is best. What do you think?

Anything over 110 deg. C is considered severe service: … accelerated varnish formation, chemical degradation, accelerated seals hardening, et.al.  All that leads to severe shortening of transmission’s life. If anything, … I would consider to half drain and refill intervals, at least, in your case. ATF is cheap, failed transmission not so much, …

Anyway, … transmission coolers used to keep temperature closer to ~95 deg. C. Difference between 95 and 110, apparently, cuts useful life of the fluid by 1/2, … and if it gets to 125 deg. C, … pretty well a guaranteed failure PDQ!

Thank you for your response. I actually installed a factory cooler as they did in 2017. So if anyone else has this issue there are parts that are Toyota. I’m not one to buy into lifetime fluid or accept “that’s normal operating temps considering the warning light comes on at 302°F. More like too late. Thanks again.
