Looking at Silverado. Never owned a diesel but MPG is impressive. I have a 5.3 in my 04 Tahoe. It has 190k and never any issues but want some more power for towing.

If you're gonna be towing I'd go with the diesel. Id have to look at the numbers but probably much better fuel economy. The new 2021 F150 has a good diesel option too if you're wanting to look around.

For reliability, I would go for the gas 6.2 V8 because GM has made that engine for quite some time however the diesel might not be a bad engine but this is its first year of production so there are no long-term reliability ratings for it yet.
