Hello Scotty, I got a new corolla that has some type of lubricant residue on the lower part of the bell housing. I noticed this when I did my first oil change. I took my finger and across the oily residue and surprisingly it did not feel like motor oil, and did not smell like it. It was a really thick yellow lubricant, is assembly lube even a real thing?

some manufacturers will coat everything in a jelly ish substance to keep cars from rusting. I wouldn't worry about it unless you see drips.
