I read Mazda has had rust issues, should I undercoat my 2020 Mazda 6 (northern car) or am I good with weekly underbody cleaning in winter? BTW spent 23K$ out the door 1200 miles on the odometer, it was the dealer loaner, how'd I do? Thanks Scotty!
I don't think undercoating will help you much, especially on a unibody car. Just try to keep it clean and free of salt.
Yes, absolutely you want to get the car done. What you want is something that is oul based such as Rust Check, Krown, and Fluid Film. I use Rust Check myself. What you don't want is something tar or rubber based. South Main Auto Repair made a video demonstrating why.

What some folks up north do is a periodic (winter) coating with Fluid Film or New Hampshire Oil. From what I've seen, it seems to help.
back in the day up in Chicago, we would get our cars treated by Ziebart rust proofing. Don't know if they are still in business tho.
