[Solved] Best AWD for heavy midwest weather swings?

Hi, I'm 21 years old living in Kansas City and currently looking around to buy a new vehicle that can handle the weather that the Midwest often gets. More Specifically im looking for brand New 2025 AWD vehicles since my 2011 Malibu got stuck in the snow last December pretty badly. Putting that aside I researched some vehicles and mainly settled on Mazda 3 Sedan AWD trim model and Subarus CrossTrek. I really like the Mazda 3 models especially since they are quite luxurious for the price of $30,000, however its compact smaller size has me worried that it won't be able to handle rougher weather, more specifically on the highways. The Crosstrek was recommended to me by my dad who vouched for their AWD drive components  that are even able to drive fairly well off-road, only real issue i had was finding out that the vehicle uses CVT which have horrible reputation. From what i researched, the CVTs on Subaru cars are somewhat better but still are delicate especially when handled crazy and often require maintenance to fluids in the CVT. The Crosstrek should be fine since I don't really drive crazy and dealership warranty should last me 3-4 years.
What's your opinion on both vehicles? Are Subarus CVT reliable? Should I look for other options?

(p.s I am looking to buy brand new 2025 at a dealership, thank u for reading and sorry for any typos)

I would get the Mazda. They tend to hold up better than Subarus in the long run
