2020 Nissan Titan opinions

I'd love some mechanic's or actual owner's opinions on the 2020 or 2021 Nissan Titan.  Could this be a underrated truck or is there a reason they sell so few in America?  Any known issues I should look out for?

It's no Toyota Tundra reliability-wise (they are both in the same ballpark sales-wise), but they are decent trucks and IMO more reliable than the F150 both V8 and Ecoboost models. The 5.6 V8 is a proven engine that can last a long time. That said, I would avoid the very early Titans (like 2003-2006) because of the poor catalytic converters and weak automatic transmissions, but those were ironed out in the later model years and they are good. Just make sure you have a mechanic check it out and make sure it wasn't wrecked, flooded, or stolen, and that everything works and if it's good to go and you can find a good price, go ahead and buy one.

Thank you!

Actually, and in this market, the 2nd Gen Titans are worth a look, especially a used one.  There’s no reason if you pick the best model years (with fewest issues) and maintain them properly that you could not get 150,00-200,000 miles out of them.  Issues in first generation were later addressed (in that generation) as well as by the second generation, so you may look at both generations.  The Nissan RWD platforms are generally better in terms of reliability than the FWD platforms.  That being said I would still avoid the model years 2020-newer since they moved to the 9-speed transmission (the previous 7-speed is less complex and and why mess with something that has already working and had been refined?).  Now the first Gen had a 5-speed, even simpler and true and tried.  I also would avoid the first year (2016), and look for 2017-2019 (in general the newer the better that your budget allows).  For list of issues over the years, see below:
