I recently took my truck in for a failed fuel pump. Got it back, filled it up on gas. Let it sit for 2 days. Went to crank it, had a gas cap warning light on. Took the cap off, put it back on till one click. It went away. 3 days later, it comes back on within the same tank of gas. Except this time it comes back on after repeating the same step above twice. And the second time it tripped a check engine light and had codes two codes. What do you guys suspect happened?
These codes are vent valve and purge solenoid related, it more or less moves the vapors from the tank up to the engine and out the exhaust. These codes most likely will be covered under warranty. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a Toyota product with this kind of issue with such low miles.
As new as it is, just take it to the dealer and let them fix it.
Surprising you had a pump failure!
