After a lot of research, we finally got the 2020 Corolla LE with 34,000 miles. It has a CVT, but we really like the ride.
I just read part of the user manual, it’s a lot and very detailed, it even has a section teachings you how to DIY maintance step by step, I’ve never seen it in VW and Nissan user manual.
Q1. When should the CVT fluid be changed?
Q2. Does it comes with launch gear(Trim: LE)?
Q3. How long can it last?
Q4. We want to make it last as long as it can, what should we do in terms of Maintance?
thanks
Answers to your question:
1.) I would personally change the transmission fluid every 30,000 miles (that will be more aggressive than what the manual says)
2.) The CVT with launch gear was only offered with the 2.0L I4 engines (so SE and XSE trims). Yours has the ‘regular’ CVT.
3.) Jury is out on Toyota’s CVT longevity. But they have had issues dating back to 2014, so not my preferred choice of transmission.
4.) Stay on top of engine oil (every 5,000 miles) and transmission fluid changes (30,000 miles). Follow the owners manual for everything else.
