Even up to model year 2017 the Nissan Versa CVTs have had issues and I still don’t trust the newer ones that all the issues are behind them, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for as long as possible and keep beyond the warranty period.  I would look at a different vehicle altogether.

They are looking to be much better cars than before but it's still relatively new and I would wait a few more years to see how they hold up since the previous-gen versa was a rolling pile of junk with the CVT and just in general alongside cars like the Yaris and Accent. I would spend more money and buy a compact car like a Civic, Corolla, Mazda3 or a Sentra (manual only, I would wait to see how the latest CVTs hold up) because they are better made and you get more for your money.

Opt for a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic if you want something that lasts long. Yes, I know a new Corolla or Civic is 6k more than a Versa, but they will double if not triple the lifespan of a Versa. I have coworkers and family members who owned Nissan. They are flimsy built vehicles. You can feel how flimsy they are by just closing the door. It doesn't feel and sound solid. You may have heard people recommended Toyota and Honda a thousand times, but it is what it is, their vehicles are just top of the reliability pyramid.

Lotta blanket statement here. Corollas and Civics feel pretty light and "flimsy," as do Subarus. Growing up, this was just a hallmark of cheap, but reliable Japanese cars. My dad's early 80's Corolla was this way, but it was a great car. Volkswagens have a solid door closing feel, but it doesn't make them well-built or reliable. My Frontier is a tank, as solid as any car I've owned, and they are super reliable. Now, all that said........I wouldn't buy the Versa. I wouldn't buy ANY CVT made by ANY maker, Toyota, Honda, or otherwise. It's an unnecessary gamble in my opinion. Stick with more traditional autos or a manual and stay away from these. Period.
