Hi Scotty;
Would you buy a 2020 Tundra or do I need to be concerned about a drop in quality due to the pandemic?
Thank you.
Those are excellent full-size trucks. I don't think the pandemic has affected the actual build quality - it is still a very well built truck. Realize that the current Tundra platform is 14 years old, so it is very tried and true. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of those new, if you don't mind the price.
Thank you for your reply.
I am considering a Tundra because it is "old", I neither need nor want all the fancy stuff other manufacturers offer.
As to price, I have build a comparable F-150 online and they are not much cheaper, so Toyota it is.
Thanks again and stay safe.
I would not hesitate brand quality drops over time like for example lots of brands have been declining in quality for about 20 years but the Tundra is the best large truck out there I would still buy it. Also, 2020 trucks are often made in 2019 so pay attention to the month/year it was made.
If you're worried, just avoid vehicles made May-June.
Those were the months of reopening factories.
Assemblies and suppliers were all purring along by July.
Thanks Carlos, we will head to our dealer this week and place an order, who knows what Toyota comes up with for the new 2022 model, V6 only etc.,
all the other manufacturers have done it, so it's quite possible. No V6 for me.
Take care!
