2021 Toyota Corolla should I perform a break-in oil change?

Hey Scotty, I just got a 2021 Toyota Corolla hatchback with 8 miles on it. Dealership said first oil change is at 10k miles. Should there be a break in change at 500? Thanks.

Thank you very much. Would you still recommend every 5k even if it has synthetic oil?

Don't make the first oil change earlier than normal. Oil from the factory has different additives for brand new engines.

Firstly, congratulations.

Secondly, I’d change it every 5000 miles/every year -

All the best!

If you do mainly highway driving, 10,000 miles may be okay. But if you’re mainly in the city with stop & go traffic, 5000 miles should be a safer bet.
