scotty i am looking to by a 2021 rav4 as i was going for a test ride I could here the the engine rattling. so i did not buy it, and the salesmen started another rav4. and it had the same rattling, i just happen to see one of your videos today, and you where talking about these rav4s rattling. so know if i want to get the one i want its being built, and i will have to put a deposit on it.do you think it would be wise to go for it, and if this engine rattled they would say o that is normal. or they would fix it. today is 4/29/21 thx scotty love watching your show. sleev0.
hi steeve0 here I should of said the raddling sounds like lifters or very low on oil. maybe more like clattering I should of said in the begging. hope this makes a little more sense. thx.
If you order one, it will rattle. It is a characteristic of the engine and they will not attempt to repair it. If it is doing it on all the new RAV's, which is what I have been hearing, then they will just call it normal and move on.
Following as I also heard it in my new 2019 Camry lol can't for the life of me figure it out. Though the closet thing that I found to nullify the noise was just to hold the dipstick, not to sure if this be similar.
Thanks to all that answer my question on the rave 4 on rattling engine. I found one that is quiet and I pick it up on Friday. since it is a new car I hope there won't be any problems, since its a Toyota. will up date on the rave4 after some miles are put on engine.
