Sounds like metal grinding from the ac compressor area when truck sits for several days and started with AC on. I can start with AC off then turn on the AC and sure enough there is the noise. No visible issue, ac works fine. if the truck is driven daily, not able to duplicate this issue. Started to happen around 16000 miles not has 17500. adding a video from some other owner having a similar issue. what can you advise? I am concerned that Toyota dealer will say its normal....just like the spark knock issue i had since 3000 miles. Thanks Scotty!!

Same problem.
Truck has 40,000 miles and just noticed the hard engagement last week after truck parked for a few days. Only on the 1st engagement of the A/C.

It's under warranty. Demand that these items be fixed. Be prepared to go up the corporate ladder. Check for service bulletins and recalls. Don't take "that's normal" for an answer.
If a dead fish was rotting under your dashboard the dealer would say that was "normal".
If the compressor is making noise it's bad, period. Don't let them get away with brushing you off.
