I recently bought a certified highway mileage (58k) 2022 Civic sport with a 6 speed manual transmission. It drives smooth and other than the lack of quality in this gen making small creaks from inside the cabin I noticed every single time I start the car I hear a rattle. At first I thought it was something inside the cabin then I had the wife start my car with the hood open and I noticed that 1 I can't hear the rattle outside since the engine is louder but 2 it matches the look of the engine when it does start. It makes the noise no matter the weather, how long I've been driving it, or the engine temperature. At idle the noise is gone it's strictly during start up. I rev the car and the noise isn't there either so it isn't something internal to the engine itself. Don't think it's a heat shield because it doesn't sound metallic. I have no idea what it could be because everything to me looks secure. Any thoughts?
You should still be within the 5y/60k miles Honda powertrain warranty. Trying having it looked at by them.
Well many things can rattle from the starter to heat shields. Do my video. finding the source of car noises, Scotty. It's on YouTube and you can certainly pinpoint the noise then. From my experience it's more often heat shields when it does that. Probably it's not the catalytic converter rattling cuz they can break apart and they will rattle internally
