2022 Dodge Challenger R/T Scatpack Wide Body 392 6.4L, 2500 miles Automatic
Aloha Scotty, My question is how often should I change my oil based on time vs. mileage. Manufacturers say change oil every 6k miles or 6 months but my oil indicator says that my oil is still at 90% due to I only drive my car about once a month for about an hour or so and during the year I only drove it 2500 miles. I use Amsoil signature series synthetic oil and oil filter which Amsoil claim their oil and filter lasts for 25k miles or a year. So should I just follow manufacturer suggestions or can I save money and change my oil yearly due to its only been driven 2500 miles in a year?

Only driving an hour per month is hard on an engine.
It means the moisture , fuel blow-by, and other contamination can build up in the oil.
It means the inside of the engine isn't properly oiled and exposed to the atmosphere a lot, and it doesn't get exercised.
Believe it or not rubber needs movement to stay fresh and supple.
I think you should change the oil every 6 months if you don't want problems.
I’m not a big fan of oil change indicators. Many just come on at a certain mileage. In your case, you would probably hit the time interval before the mileage interval. So reliance on the indicator alone would not be the best judge of when to change oil
