Hi Scotty, I’m planning on getting the new CRV hybrid. What is your opinion opinion in terms of their reliability, thanks

The ICE engine has been around for sometime and seems to be resilient. It’s been used in ICE Accords, Civics, CRV’s… for over a decade.

The hybrid system is relative new compared to the Prius/Toyota hybrid system.  It’s been out for about 5 years, in the Civic, Insight, and more recently the CR-V.

One of the big reasons I like the latest version of the Honda Hybrid is that it is more like an EV than a Hybrid, below 40-45MPH. It’s actually a pretty clever system which maximizes efficiency of the engine.

As far as reliability, only time will tell, but so far, as long as this version of the hybrid system has been out, it seems to have a good track record.

Thank you very much for your feedback, much appreciated

While I prefer Toyota for hybrid technology since they've been making it for a long time, but after Toyota my second choice is definitely Honda hybrid. They make pretty good cars and I would trust them more than many other brands. There are Prius's out there with over 200k or 300k miles so it's possible for hybrids to last pretty long, and I guess (only time will tell for sure) that a Honda hybrid can last some time too.
