I am considering one for long term use. I have a 21 Mirage now and its good but I think the Miata might last longer and have more fun with it. What are your opinions? I plan on getting the Club/GT with manual, and not sure about the hard top one!

Good idea.
That would be upgrading from one of the most miserable cars to one of the most fun.
Usually when people are upgrading to a Miata, you need to consider the fact you'll have less space, be lower to the ground, etc.
but with a Mirage you don't have to as it already has all the cons, so buying a Miata will just add the pros.
miserable? I had 4 of them and one Miata...

Precisely the reason to get a Miata. Just make sure you and your belongings fit in one (it’s too tight for me). For me, it would not make a good daily since I barely fit and need storage. It’s small all around. Also, if you get into a serious accident, it might be “Bye, Bye”.
Excellent choice for a car. The only reason I do not have one is that when we test drove it the footwell on the passenger side is so small that my wife could not fit her feet and purse there (and she does not have a huge purse). So I "settled" for an 86 
She absolutely loved the car otherwise and was every bit as disappointed as I was.
Definitely get the Miata. Get the ragtop and in the Club version.
