Checklist for cars sitting for a long time

Hello Scotty! I thought this might make a very good video idea for your channel.

Since I had to start taking care of my parents full time due to old age and health problems, they stopped driving their cars a year or few years ago, since they aren't able to safely drive themselves anymore.

One of the cars is a 2003 Chevy Malibu (needs battery still for mileage). The other is a 2005 Ford Five Hundred Limited (2WD) (79,880 miles). I'm going to put a new batteries in since the old ones died long while ago from just sitting, and put air in the tires. The brake rotors look rusted where the brake pads will be braking. I'm sure I'll have to do oil changes on them.

Is there a check list of things that have to be done to have it road ready again? And is there a better way to prepare a car that won't be driven for a long while?
Thanks so much for your time, patience with everyone, and all the effort you've put into your career and videos over the years!

Do you/they still need both vehicles?

Consider getting them running/serviced and then putting them both up for sale in this lucrative used car market.
