Scotty's perfect car

Topic starter

If Scotty wanted to build a dependable low cost car, what would Scotty have mandatory items and what would he leave out to keep costs low. Im guessing standard transmission, no pcm/computer circuits so simple fuses, normally aspirated 4 cylinder engine with timing chain, and steel rims. Did I leave anything out.

I forgot to add maybe just have manual windows and put the ac evaporator somewhere accessible to service so you don't have to pull the dash to service anything lol

Probably something like a Studebaker Scotsman. (Pretty much my idea of the ideal new car.)

You are describing my '64 Plymouth Valiant except it had a six cylinder engine.

FWD

Make that 2WD, either FWD or RWD. Just not AWD.

Something about the size of a Studebaker Lark. 2.5 GM "Iron Duke" 4 cyl. engine, 5 or 6 speed synchromesh manual transmission. 4 door wagon. RWD,  Sealed beam headlights. Zero emission controls.

Wind up windows, 4 wheel disc brakes, PS,PBs, No key fobs, No electronics but the radio, no computer!

AND A REAL LOUD HORN!
