Hey Scotty,
Have you seen the new Tundra article? It was spotted with new Ford prototypes. It’s supposed to have a twin turbo v6 instead of a v8, to compete with the Raptor. What are your thoughts? Hopefully you can still get a v8.

All I can say is if it doesn't offer a N/A V8, I won't be getting one.
yeah I'm not a v6 fan in big trucks either but then again it's a prototype but who knows what the future will bring I can only analyze them once they're out
The entire current generation of Tundra had 1 engine option (V8). Ironically, that doesn’t bode well for getting a V8 in the next gen because Toyota will almost certainly have to have some version of a V6 (turbo or hybrid) for fuel economy reasons.
However, there is hope for possibly >1 engine choice this time. First, Toyota is very noisy about wanting to compete with the big 3; they all offer multiple engine choices, and if Toyota truly does want to compete, they will need choices too. Second, Toyota is moving Tacoma production out of San Antonio down to Mexico to free up capacity for Tundra. Obviously they are anticipating larger numbers of tundras, which makes multiple engines more financially feasible.
We will find out soon... fingers crossed.
