I just picked up a new Corolla cross L. On startup it's pretty loud for a bit before quieting down. when accelerating on low rpms it makes a light grinding noise. Some people on forums say it's the direct injection fuel pump but Im not sure. 267 miles and it drives fine.

It's under warranty so take it to the dealership and have them fix it.
