Are flexible brake hoses universal I realise they have different fittings but if I get one with the same fittings and length can I use them. All garages I have spoken to say you can only use the ones specific to your car. I have looked online and in stores they all look much the same.

If the inside diameter is the same I don't see how there could be a problem
That's what I thought apparently it's wrong thinking.

length, inside diameter, and fittings would be the only differences between cars.
You're not servicing air brakes on an 18 wheeler are you?
No I'm not servicing an 18 wheeler would probably be easier than trying to find the exact brake hoses.
