Scotty,
My wife owns a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder rear brakes only made it 15,400 miles before the dealership had us change brakes costing nearly $400 they say it’s the electrical rear brakes, causing this and is normal wear. I have the old brakes and they wearing oddly heavy on one side and not on the on the other pad. Never had a car that needed to replace brakes on rear before the front ones! Is this normal what can we do?
they say it’s the electrical rear brakes
As in parking brake?
The car doesn't move when it's parked. Did you ask the idiot how that can that possibly wear the brakes?
Sounds like typical dealership lies and scumbaggery to me. They're simply trying to save a few measly bucks and weasel out of fixing it.
Make sure they give it to you in writing on your service records that it's "normal".
Hang on to those pads. Then take photos of the pads, and the paperwork (including odometer reading). Maybe even get a consultation at another mechanic (with his results in writing). Send it all off to Nissan corporate and see what they say.
The nerve of these people. Are they getting more brazen?
I will never buy a new car again! At least at a few years old some of the issues are known. It's impossible to get the dealer to say there is an issue. In the meantime you are shelling out $ and have a new vehicle out of service with repair bills = to an older car.
I'm sorry.
You mention that the brakes were wearing oddly on one side, you mean front vs rear, correct?
If you mean the left and right were different, that is another issue.
