2023 RAV4 hybrid gasoline smell in oil

I have a 2023 RAV4 hybrid with 3100 miles. I changed the oil and filter at 1k. I checked the oil the level is between the notches however when I smelled the oil it has a very strong gasoline smell. I smelled new 0w-16 oil and it doesnt smell at all like gasoline. Does anyone have the same issue? Should I be worried? Was it fixed under warranty?

I drive 60 miles a day on highway and I do not do short trips.

Should I be worried?

I definitely would be. Gasoline contaminated oil has poor film strength and damages bearings.

A new car shouldn't do this.

Its such a new car, id bring it back to the dealer where you bought it and see what they say. They'll likely curve you and say "they all do that", or "that's normal" but worth a shot.

After that id bring it to a trusted independent mechanic to get their opinion. If your mechanic thinks something is up then Id go to Blackstone laboratories and have you engine oil analyzed. It cost me about $30 last time I sent a sample out, so not very expensive.

What is your average commute time/mileage? What type of climate do you live?
