Scotty, really need your help here. Bought a 5.3V8 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 in May 2024. Last week, it crapped out on me and dealership told me that it’s a total transmission valve body replacement…the truck has under 10k miles at this point. I’m not concerned about costs bc it’s still under warranty, but does this have long-term implications? What do you suggest I do with the truck after this issue is fixed? Am I SOL?? Thanks for your help!

Given what you're seeing here (major failure after just 10K miles) as well as Scotty's evaluations of the 1500 series' quality issues in multiple videos, it's likely that truck will continue to be troublesome. The problem is since it is only a year old you'll take a financial bloodbath getting rid of it at his point. You may even be under water on a loan depending on how it was financed. Probably the thing to do is look at getting rid of it later, like when the warranty expires.

@chucktobias Just got my truck back yesterday (6 days) and the same exact issue appears to just come up. At what point does the “lemon law” come into effect?? Do I have any ground to stand on or anywhere to point me for guidance?

The lemon laws vary by state, you'd need to check the law in your state. Probably would need a lawyer since dealers and manufacturers fight lemon law claims tooth and nail.
