This truck has 5.3L and 10 speed transmission. Is it a reliable powertrain?

no. probably the worst GM has ever produced.

No. At a minimum, the 10-speed transmission is a disaster.

The Tundra is a better built truck , even with a twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine.which new 1/2 ton trucks would you recommend?

Ok which new 1/2 ton trucks would you recommend? F150, Tundra, or Ram 1500?
@ricky2964 none of the above. Nothing made in the last 7 years or so. You want an older Toyota pickup. V8. No turbos. And watch Scotty on Youtube he talks about trucks all the time because people keep asking.
