I have a 2004 Infiniti G35 sedan with about 150k miles. The 3rd brakelight is inop most of the time but rarely works. If the brakelight itself checks good, can I on one of the other brakelight power leads to make it work?

Check the ground. You should be able to find a wiring diagram on a forum specifically for the G35 that will help you. It sounds like a bad connection somewhere.
