Hi Scotty. I have a 2016 Toyota 4Runner SR5 2WD 4.0L V6 automatic transmission with about 80K miles on it. I want to use it to tow my 10' x 6' travel trailer weighing about 4,000 lbs. I am thinking of upgrading the brakes on the 4 Runner to TRD brakes. Would you recommend I do it? The trailer is a 1964 and has no brakes of it's own. Thank you, Jeannette

Please put electrically controlled brakes on the trailer. 4000lbs is what your 4Runner weighs, and the trailer might try to pass you on the left when you need to do a hard stop. Not cheap, but neither are TRD brakes, body and fender work, or your trailer.
Besides, I might be coming the other way.
Thank you. I was leaning that way, but wasn't sure.
