Dear Scotty, or to whomever it may concern. I have a 2005 Toyota 4runner 4.0 V6 automatic transmission. A few months ago ( about 4 months ) I noticed that my engine started burning oil. I was adding about half a quart every two weeks. I changed my oil when time came to change it ( I went a bit over ), but I don't drive it much. Work is only 4 miles from home, and I don't do much else so I go a bit longer between oil changes. Also I live out in the country, so there is never any traffic. Anywho, It ran fine for about three days after changing the oil. On the third day, as I was driving home from work, it lost compression, and started to make a lot of noise. I pulled over right away, and turned it off. The engine didn't lock up. I have no idea what caused it. I put everything back on right. I do most of the simple maintenance on my own vehicles. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this. You ( Y'all ) have a great day.
Mileage?
it lost compression
what do you mean?
You got out, hooked up your gauge, and measured your cylinder compression?
