4runner suspension replacement?

I have a 2004 4runner 190k miles. Ride has become pretty bouncy. I don’t know that shocks were ever replaced. Last time mechanic said it would be good idea but not urgent. Will it make the ride a lot smoother if I replace them ? Trying to weigh spending money on this vehicle vs just buying something newer that drives smooth.

Did you just compare buying new shocks & struts versus buying another vehicle?!

Are you suffering any other issues other than a bouncy ride? A good quality aftermarket or OEM parts will return your vehicle to like brand new ride quality.

Which other vehicle was on your radar?

Haha... it was just the scary thought of putting $1,000 info this car. Vs getting a cheap compact car.

Other issue... leak from transfer case. Everyone I take it to just says if it’s not leaking like crazy it’s not worth opening up cause will be really expensive. Thoughts?

Ahh, if you have your eyes on another body style, then it’s another matter.

That’s up you to then.

I wouldn’t worry about a slow leak if you can keep adding fluid.

Sounds like you don’t wanna put too much money into this car & have your heart set on your next purchase.

The new good quality struts make the truck run better. You don't need to get OEM.

About the transfer case, you should take care of it if you want to use 4WD.

Apparently, the truck has not been taken care of and if you do not want to spend money on that, it is better to pass on that.
