My 01 tahoe LT 5.3 with 4wd, when engaged seems to be less reactive when pressing on the gas pedal than maybe it should and slows down what I would think to fast when not giving gas. And seems to be ungreased. Might I ask you how to fix this, I'm afraid to break something here.

could be a hundred different things (but not grease).

Start with the basics. Read the maintenance section of your owner's manual, and check the things in there ... air filter, spark plugs, etc.
