I got a price on having a new 5.3 engine put in my 09 gmc 1500 I was quoted a price of $5600 with a 3 year unlimited mile warranty on it. Is that a fair price this shop is the only shop with good reviews in my area that is interested in doing the job

new 5.3 engine
New as in brand new 5.3 ? or a reman? New long-block crate 5.3 for 07-09 go for low $3k with 3yr warranty. Think that a reasonable price if it is for a new engine, installed.

If it's really new, it's a GM crate motor from GM Performance. I would check other places for reman engines with better warranties, like Powertrain Products that come with a 5 year or 7 year (for extra $$) warranty.
