- Hey Scotty, I have a 99 Toyota Rav4 with a manual transmission.
- The problem is: when I shift into 5th gear I have to hold it in place with my hand, otherwise it'll pop out into neutral when I accelerate o decelerate abruptly.
- What can I do to fix it? Is it too expensive?

well live without fifth gear because that means that your fifth gear is shot and it'll work perfectly fine if you only use the first four gears because if you keep holding it in fifth gears eventually the fifth gear will wear enough that it will break and fall off and destroy the transmission I've had customers with that who only used fourth gear and it worked for years

Thank you so much for your answer. I'm gonna see if I can find any used transmission and replace it.
