Hey Scotty,

Are the 5th Generation 4runner's maintenance and repairs expensive? And do they last a very long time? I'm looking into purchasing one.

Most any newer vehicle will have a chance of something pretty expensive breaking. 4Runners are known for reliability, and the 5th gens follow that tradition.

I suggest renting one and driving it a few days and see if you like it.

Compared to older vehicles, new vehicles are more expensive to repair and do not (generally speaking) last as long.  I know that's just an opinion but car makers have seemed to nearly perfected the art of planned obsolescence.  Newer vehicles seem to give it up very shortly after the warranty expires (if not before) and parts seem astronomically expensive.  I am not saying that parts for your 1971 Honda N600 aren't going to cost you, but then, they don't have a $1500 ABS module that seems to go out whenever it rains a little.  Just my opinion.
