2007 xc70 Volvo automatic  172000 miles

to start with i bought the car for 6000 drove 50k it most likely had a bad valve when i bought it ...

took it to a shop and had them rebuilt the head ... it had a bad valve and fix the oil leaks and i asked for a new water pump why they had it apart  .... for that i gave them what started out as 3000 ended up at 6000 ... i have driven the car for about 130 mile and notice oil on the back bumper ... pop the hood checked the oil stick and there was no oil on the stick ...

other than telling the shop  ...Is there any think i should check before i take it back to them ( ???? ) ... I'm just sick thinking i should have junk the car and am ready to hear well that's something we didn't work on

i should have done this my self and just work through the learning curve ... hard to trust any think anymore

lol thx for the help ... i took it back they fix it ... but before i took it back i did check with a lawyer he didn't want the case ... i could have ask the credit care company to stop payment but it didn't get that far thanks again ...

well whoever did the work screwed up I would demand my money back or higher a lawyer on that one and then never buy another Volvo get a Toyota next time

@scottykilmer
You made a video on that exact car and said it was one of the last ones that were solid built.

Wasn't that V70?

@g-t
it was the xc70 and the xc70 is the same platform as the s60 and v70, and all of them have a good reputation compared to the following reputation. That is why go on craigslist and you see so many of them with over 200k miles.

Also depends what engines they have.

@g-t
Yep those with the 5 cylinder naturally aspirated were very very reliable the transmission was made by AISIN pretty dependable set up I researched and found 2004/2005 were when Volvo solved the transmission issues so the XC70 is known as one of the most solid built modern volvos.

There in Europe they have problems with some of the diesel engines.

@g-t
That must be a shame because Volvos are beautiful cars and diesels are very popular in Europe but here in the US it is comprised of gasoline 4, 5, and 6 cylinder engines which are pretty reliable compared to other brands. My profile picture is a blue s60, my dream car.

I noticed you changed a picture but it is not displayed (to me yet)

@g-t
that might be because we are in the comments. If you go to an answer someone put their profile picture can be seen fully, in full resolution.

It is not displayed in your profile. When I changed my profile picture it needed some time to display it.

@g-t
I see good to know. It will probably take a while. might as well leave this guy's topic alone;0

True, we went a little bit off😀
