Hey scotty i bought a 67 impala ss and its been sitting for five years i started it up a few days ago and i took it on a drive and on the highway it would struggle to go 60mph and up, and it kept on smelling like gas due to old gas from five years ago, i put new gas in it but it still smells like gas, but it runs fine

If it has been sitting that long, you really need to go through it and find out what parts have deteriorated and need replacement.
If you haven't done engine work before, find a good mechanic and have him do the work. It may be running now, but not for long if there is a major issue that needs attention.
