I have 2000 Ford F-250 4×4 with a 7.3 diesel that needs new Fuel injectors but to get all 8 of them replaced it costs about $1,000 is it worth repairing had the truck for about 20 years now never had problems with it until now
I previously worked at a diesel shop and I can say the 7.3 is one of the best engines out there. I would see 300,000 miles out of the 7.3 easily. I would make the investment and replace the Fuel injectors. My favorite suv though is the 7.3 excursion.
This is going to depend on the mileage but as a general rule you can get a decent amount of life out of a powerstroke diesel if you're willing to spend the money. In my opinion though the only people who need diesel trucks are people who use them in an industry where the pulling capabilities are necessary. They are work trucks intended for hauling far more than most people would ever need too. I have one for a contracting business and we use it every day but I have considered going back to a gas big block because its questionable whether the diesel trade off is worth it monetarily.
