Scotty, I would like a Lexus but am in the U.K. The petrol is too expensive here to buy a petrol engine. Are the Lexus diesels the IS220d well made? Do they have a timing chain. Many thanks

That engine has timing chain. It's 2.2l diesel engine that is found in some Toyotas. It's known to me that it had issues with EGR valve that caused oil consuption. There were also head gasket problems. And don't expect good fuel mileage.
If you drive short distances or do city driving, stay away from diesels. They are supposed to make distances.
