2018 Subaru Forester 2.5i PremiumI
s this a reliable vehicle? They are asking $16,722 with 96,502 miles..it's AWD 4cyl..automatic...thank you for your help!
You can get an idea of failure trends here:

I would be concerned that (assuming it has automatic trans) the CVT may be nearing the end of its useful life if it has not been serviced regularly. Most of them have not because in the U.S. Subaru claims the CVT fluid is "lifetime" and never needs changing, which is nonsense.
Thank you...It seems like everything I can afford is junk! Might just have to get a bike...Lol
@gina-maria - I wouldn't call it "junk", in fact I have friends and family with Subarus of about that age and they haven't had any major problems. However there are some things to be aware of when buying one used. If the CVT has been serviced at least a couple of times over those 96K miles it could be OK. Even if changed just once it would be a plus. Check the service history.
They’re fine. Usual caveats apply (research the car, get it inspected before you buy it, etc). @chucktobias brings up a complicated issue regarding the CVT; that’s been discussed extensively here in the past, so check the search bar.
