Hi Scotty! First let me start by saying many thanks for honest reviews and yr invaluable advice..Yes its true!!..I have an 84 Celica made in Japan still on the road..I'm the second owner..bought is with 24,000 .Now with 280,000 on it (I put on 3 timing chains and switched to the metal guides and changed my tranny fluid every 60,000) Stupid thing toyota did back in 83 when they made the guides plastic on the 22RE and they wound up in the oil pan miles later! lol Ive babied it since I had it ( use to work as a Mechanic) Car has an A40D auto 4 speed overdrive trans...My problem is only when the car is at normal operating temperature when i put it in reverse from park it stalls out 90% of the time ..Only when its hot...I'm stumped!! Any ideas?? Also I see u like xtools.. I'm looking to invest in a better scanner but xtools has no live support where u can talk to someone..I'm considering Launch ( live support in CA) ...Have u owned any of their scanners? Opinions? What do u recommend besides x tools staying under $1000?....Would appreciate your input Hope you and family are doing well and have a Happy Easter! Al
- Well lunch makes decent tools too I have a bunch of them. Nars for installing out only one hot generally that is a minor failure inside the transmission and or torque converter. Personally I would live with it maybe put your foot on the gas a little bit more when you do back up when it's hot
Thanks for yr reply..Its not a lockup torque convertor so it cant be that..Be well
