I am curious, was the 90s Nissians,& the Datsons just as reliable as Toyotas&Honda back then?
The correct name was Datsun.
They were good cars and way better than today’s models. I would say they were very close to Honda and Toyota.

Yeah, they were awesome cars, despite Nissan having a rough time in the 1990s. I also like Nissans from the 70s and 80s, especially the 240 z and the Datsun 510, both of which are becoming collector items.

Imo Nissans were very reliable up to mid 2000's or so
Once they change their target customer the quality crashed
The Pathfinder, Xterra, Frontier were all very well built
The Altima and Maxima as well
Many Nissans had Timing Chains vs Belts which most other car makers abandoned
